The Hollywood Orchard Trees & Soils gang is looking for a few good hikers!
In preparation for our upcoming Tree-Age tree care weekend on December 10th & 11th, we're going to head out and take a good look at the 50 or so fruit trees we've planted over the last few years. That's right: 50! And while most are doing pretty darn well in the face of this historic draught, they all could use a little TLC.
We'll meet at 1pm on Friday, December 2 at the Mini Grove, then head for the hills. We'll be checking up on our Diggin' In trees as we go –– taking photos and even plotting GPS coordinates.
Wear good hiking shoes and sunscreen/hat, and bring water (and a step counter!). We'll be moving right along, so please be there right at 1pm.
If you must drive, please park on Beachwood Drive. We'll be meeting at the Mini Grove at the end of Glen Green Street. The street veers to the left and ends in a separate cul-de-sac where we started our mini grove. We'll gather there!
And mark your calendars for our Tree-Age weekend! December 10-11.
We'll be meeting on December 10th at Cheremoya Elementary School (9AM) & on December 11th at the Mini Grove (also 9AM). We'll be tending to the trees we've planted throughout the years and making sure they're in top shape. What a great opportunity to get your hands dirty before the holidays!
