The Community
Most of our members live within walking distance of activities in Beachwood Canyon, which lies between the Hollywood Sign and Franklin Street. At the mid-point of Beachwood Drive, the community living on or near Glen Green Street has a tradition of block events in the cul-de-sac at the end of their street. Residents of Beachwood – a bustling corridor for Hollywood residents of both multi-unit apartment complexes and single family dwellings – have joined in on the activities.
The community-focused events on Glen Green include being a safe and lively Halloween destination since 1994 and hosting summer parties such as ‘The Glen Green Rodeo’ and local band concerts. Beginning in 2000, the street has had the Trombone Holiday Concert which features up to 26 trombone musicians playing holiday music. The cul-de-sac is filled with lights and tables and the residents bring a folding chair and a dish to pass. The event draws over three hundred locals to the end of the street. In addition, a countless number of Beachwood residents report that they sit outside their homes to hear the music echoing up the canyon.
