Our first big 2017 Hollywood Orchard harvest event is this Saturday, and we know you don't want to miss the fun. Our Citrus-A-Go-Go Pick-n-Kitchen is the perfect example of our mission in action: we'll harvest fruit from trees in our neighborhood and collectively prepare part of the haul in our pop-up kitchen. The majority of the harvest is donated to A Place Called Home, an incredible community center in South Central LA. Last year we donated over a ton of fruit! Our Pick-n-Kitchen event is a great opportunity to engage with neighbors and give back to our community. And did we mention it's SUPER FUN?!
 
Friends of the Orchard, Chefs Minh Phan and Ernest Miller, are working with us to create unique and delicious recipes to make with some of the citrus we pick. This year we're making lemon salt, lemon sugar, and lemon-infused olive oil. Everyone that participates will be able to bring home one of these items as well as some fresh fruit juice.

Kitchen Crew, please bring: pairing knife, vegetable peeler, zester, cutting board, dish towel, and a jar to take juice home.

Harvest Crew, please bring/wear: Hand pruner/fruit picker (if possible), large canvas bag & water bottle, a jar to take juice home, gloves, long sleeves, sturdy shoes and sunscreen.
