Time once again for our biggest harvest of the year!
And the most fruitful of our neighborhood events...
Here in Hollywood, we’re blessed with an abundance of sunshine, citrus trees and, well, more dang fruit than folks know what to do with. Well, here in the Orchard we know: we Pick ’n Kitchen!
Yep, on Valentine’s Day we’ll gather the crews. First, our Event Crew will get us set-up, signed-in and fortified with coffee and goodies. Then our Picking Crew will head out to lovingly harvest surplus citrus from our amazing neighbors. Kitchen Crew will take a portion of this home-grown goodness, and make some wonderful recipes! Finally, all our crews will reunite to share a pot-luck lunch and raise a glass (of lemonade) for a job well done.
As an encore, the following week, we'll load up and haul the bulk of our harvest to our neighbors at places like the Downtown Women’s Center and A Place Called Home. Folks who can really put our Orchard fruit to use.
